Tis the season for babies! It seems either someone is either announcing a pregnancy or snapping a photo of a brand new snuggly baby. But for either those looking for a gift to send to those new (or new-again!) parents or for moms looking to add some items to their baby registries I thought I would create a list of my Top 10 Baby Items that worked for my kiddos and me!
Because every mom needs a durable, comfortable and of course fashionable diaper bag! I didn’t get my PPB diaper bag until right before my second was born and let me tell you… it was a game changer!! You can either sling it over your shoulder or carry it as a backpack which is soooo much more comfortable and allows for both of your arms to be free for grabbing those fleeing toddlers or pushing a stroller/shopping cart. The front panel unzips making diaper changes an absolute breeze. They have many colors and styles to choose from but this one is both classic and goes with either gender of baby!
Let’s face it, sometimes all baby needs to fall asleep is a good swing and some music and this swing does it all! You can rotate the body portion to change the direction baby swings and choose which soothing song will lull baby to sleep. Without ours I don’t think I would have been able to get laundry or dishes done or give my arms any breaks!
When if comes time to start making baby’s food (should you choose) this whole system was amazing! I was able to steam, puree and then store a month’s worth of baby food in as little as an hour each month! Not only are you giving your baby healthy, fresh foods but you’re also saving a ton of money by not purchasing store bought foods!
Whenever your little one gets their first sniffles it seems as though there is nothing you can do to help them. Thankfully running a humidifier helps with their noses and congestion. And we all know how hard it is to get an accurate temperature of wiggly little munchkins so having a temporal thermometer makes it loads easier! Of course, you should always consult your pediatrician when it comes to your baby.
This pillow will save your tired arms whether you are nursing or bottle feeding! Just slip it around your midsection and find a comfy spot on the couch or a rocking chair. It also helps keep baby in an upright position when they are laying on their backs or working on tummy time!
I don’t know where or how the obsession with this rubber giraffe started but I thank whoever got us ours BIG time! This poor giraffe was gnawed on by two different kiddos and looked almost brand new after four years of wear! Now that it doesn’t have any use with my kiddos, it makes the perfect little helper during my sessions with kiddos!
For the fashionable babies and mommas out there, have no fear! Now there’s an alternative to putting a non-matching bib on your baby or risk one of your nicer necklaces getting gnawed on! Dribbles are absorbed by these adorable bandana bibs and baby can nibble on your color-coordinated teething necklace. It’s a win-win for everyone!
What a great way to preserve those early memories of your baby! They can see how tiny their little hands and feet were as the years go on. Paired with some adorable early baby photos, this makes a great gift idea for expectant mom on your list!
Someone once told me to freeze whole fruits and veggies (think grapes, strawberries, blueberries, peas, and greenbeans) and then stick them in this mesh feeder! Food will turn to mush making it easy for baby to learn how to hold food and eat it. Plus if they’re teething it helps sooth those sore gummies!
10. Love You Forever
Of course no registry or wish list is complete with out this tear-jerking book. I dare you to read it to your little one without tearing up! It’s so good we have a copy for each grandparents’ house and an extra we kept in the diaper bag.
That about sums up the list for 2016! I hope some of these items are helpful for you for either choosing items for your own registry or for gifting to someone who is expecting a little one of their own. What other items did you find helpful as a new mom?
